Welcome to Thimbleweed Park. Population: 80 nutcases.A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes. Mar 31, 2017 Thimbleweed Park is a little bit afraid you won't love it. In its worst moments, this point-and-click adventure from industry legends Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, without putting too fine a.
Gilbert was asked this right after finishing Thimbleweed Park's original release. At that point he was still finishing some ports. It seemed that financially it did not do too well for a game six people worked on full time for most of the development span.
Keep in mind that Ron Gilbert is a veteran, who would not want to release some short adventure, because this is simply not appealing after having worked on several genre classics which at their time pretty much set the bar for other point&click games.I hoped that David Fox might use the engine like he did with Zak McKracken after Maniac Mansion, but it seems there is no way to recoup money in that genre. It seems that Dave Gilbert (unrelated) seems to experiment with more roleplaying elements in his narratives, as that would change the ratio of artwork to playtime. Telltale defaulted in that oversaturated market. Adventures seem to have become a genre for hobby developers only.
